The Schilling was the currency of Austria from 1925 to 1938 and again from 1945 until the introduction of the Euro in 2002. It was divided into 100 Groschen.
The Schilling replaced the devalued Austrian Krone in 1925 and was considered a stable currency until its replacement by the Reichsmark during the annexation by Germany in 1938. It was reintroduced after World War II and eventually pegged to the German Mark before the adoption of the Euro.
